Check-in Deadline Is Not International Landing Time
Do not use a resort’s last seaplane check-in time as your international flight’s arrival target. Immigration, baggage collection and the handover to the transfer operator all happen after landing. Ask the resort to confirm your actual flight number and date before committing to a non-refundable booking.
Treat 15:00 or 15:30 as unconfirmed until your resort accepts the itinerary. The example below describes one resort’s published guidance, not a nationwide international arrival deadline.

Source checked: 9 September 2026. Vilu Reef’s destination page lists seaplane operations from 06:00 to 16:00, with last check-in at 15:30. It also lists a domestic-flight option for evening arrivals/departures and baggage limits of 20 kg checked plus 5 kg hand luggage per person. Transfers must be arranged through the resort.
These are that resort’s published conditions, not a guarantee of a seat or a rule for all Maldives hotels. Ask for the international arrival cutoff, domestic connection and onward transport, excess-baggage costs and total transfer quote in writing. A listed evening alternative does not mean an automatic free switch after a delayed flight.
