Confirm the hotel's route before buying international flights
Confirm transport against the specific hotel, travel date and party. Atoll distance alone cannot establish which routes you can book. Scheduled travel time is also different from the total time between immigration and reaching your room.

TMA: verified timing and baggage information
TMA's official FAQ, checked 2026-09-23, specifies daylight flying and recommends international arrival by 15:30 local time. Baggage: 20 kg checked plus 5 kg hand luggage, no extra infant allowance; maximum 32 kg per bag; excess USD 5/kg plus applicable taxes.
This operator guidance is not a nationwide resort deadline or a same-day guarantee. Have the hotel confirm your flight, distinguishing international landing from completion of seaplane check-in. Other operators' conditions require separate confirmation.
A checklist for the final transfer quote
- People and ages: Adult, child and infant charges; separate seats and baggage allowances.
- Inclusions: Return or one-way, currency, taxes, lounge access, excess baggage and private-boat supplements.
- Promotions: Which guests, room categories, minimum stays, dates and advance-booking conditions qualify for “free transfers”?
- Full timeline: Immigration, baggage collection, waiting, terminal changes and travel. Separate estimates from confirmed departures.
- Disruption and return: Contact person after a missed connection, responsibility for overnight stays or changes, and whether an early international departure requires leaving the island the previous evening.
Keep written answers with the booking. Mark unanswered costs as “to confirm”; do not count them as zero or included.
Planning around late arrivals and bulky luggage
Ask for written connection confirmation first. If a same-day arrival cannot be confirmed, compare an airport-area overnight stay, a different international flight, or an alternative route accepted by the hotel. Avoid buying a domestic leg that the hotel cannot meet.
For diving, photography or sports equipment, provide actual bag counts, dimensions and weights. Do not transfer the international allowance to the island leg. Keep essential medication and overnight items accessible, within the carrier's cabin restrictions.

Check the arrangements accepted by your hotel. TMA resort transfers are booked through partner resorts or travel agents; this should not be generalized to every transport service.
Does a late arrival guarantee a same-day island transfer?
No. Obtain confirmation of the route, connection deadline and disruption plan. A boat or domestic-flight option alone does not establish overnight availability.
Does my international baggage allowance apply to the seaplane?
Do not assume it does. Check checked, cabin, infant and excess-baggage rules with the actual transfer operator and your booking.
