Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives is located within a lagoon and can be reached by luxury speedboat in approximately 25 minutes. The island is renowned for its proximity to the Tari village, an internationally recognized surfing destination qualified to host world-class surfing competitions. In 2013, the property was taken over by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, and the original name Chaaya Island Dhonveli was changed to its current name. The resort offers diving courses and organized excursions to numerous dive sites across the Maldives. Amaan Spa provides wellness and beauty treatments, including Sport Massage specifically designed for muscle relaxation after surfing. This resort was one of the earlier destinations to attract surf enthusiasts in the Maldives, with surrounding reefs generating ideal waves for surfing. The surfing season runs from May to November, during which guests must pre-book surfing activities at designated zones within the atoll, with a maximum of 30 participants per session.

Island Advantages ① Formerly known as Chaaya Island Dhonveli, it was once a cost-effective option in the mid-range market; ② Adjacent to Tari Village, a globally renowned surfing spot with official event-hosting credentials; ③ The island features a winding layout with lagoon views and scenic beach areas perfect for photography.

Island Disadvantages and Target Audience Snorkeling conditions are average, and the windward-facing beaches are only moderately good in quality. Some beach villas are built in connected clusters, and their architectural style may not appeal to all travelers’ tastes. Although officially rated a 4-star resort, the accommodations have met five-star standards since a major renovation completed in 2019. Ideal for travelers seeking a quiet atmosphere, those interested in surfing, and visitors who wish to avoid large groups of Chinese tourists.
