Maldives Meal Plans: Check AI, FB, HB and BB Inclusions Before Booking
Use official Baros, Hard Rock and Coco Bodu Hithi examples to distinguish included meals, dining credits and discounts, and compare benefits you will actually use.

Turn each abbreviation into a checklist

These are common quotation terms, not a replacement for your booking confirmation. Three meals do not automatically include all-day drinks, room service or every à la carte dish.
Baros: the full half-board name matters
Baros’ meal-plan page gives ordinary HB breakfast and a three-course dinner at Lime, with a 30% food-only dinner discount at Cayenne or Lighthouse. HB Dine Around includes Lime or Cayenne dinner; its Lighthouse allowance is one dinner per person per four-night stay.
A discount leaves a bill. Ask how many specialty meals your actual stay receives, which menus qualify and how reservations work. See Baros details.
Hard Rock: exclusions and unresolved child-age wording
Hard Rock’s all-inclusive page uses credits for some restaurants, excludes minibar and in-villa dining, and gives 31 December dinner separate conditions. Its summary says children through 11.99 eat/stay free, while its terms say 5.99; the inconsistency remains.
Mark meals for ages 6–11 “to confirm”. Request the applicable age rule, child menu and adult-menu supplement in writing. For dining credits, ask whether limits apply per person or meal, whether tax is covered and how excess spending is charged. See Hard Rock details.
Coco Bodu Hithi: check drinks and the operating venue
Coco Bodu Hithi’s FAQ excludes most drinks, minibar and in-villa dining from HB/FB, except house water and breakfast coffee/tea. AI lists daily minibar soft-drink and water refills. It still reports Aqua closed for maintenance since 1 August 2026, with its menu at Stars and no reopening date in that notice.
Confirm the operating restaurants and alternatives for your dates. A venue named in a package may have a replacement arrangement, and soft-drink refills do not establish that every minibar item is included. See Coco Bodu Hithi details.
Compare the upgrade against spending you actually expect
Get two tax-inclusive quotes with identical dates, room, party and cancellation conditions. Calculate the package difference, then list the meals and drinks you would otherwise purchase.
For HB versus AI, make a daily lunch, drink and snack list. Count only benefits that are confirmed included and that you would use. Leave unknown meal prices blank instead of inserting an unsourced daily-spend estimate. Avoid adding transfers or taxes twice when the quote already includes them.

Keep those answers with the booking. Use the budget worksheet, tax guide and family checklist. Without an inclusion sheet and comparable quotations, no meal plan can be declared the cheapest for your trip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is AI always better value than HB or FB?
No. Compare tax-inclusive quotes for the same dates, room and party, then assess meals and drinks you would actually buy that the upgrade includes. Without prices, savings cannot be established.
Does all inclusive cover every restaurant and minibar item?
Not necessarily. Specialty dining may use credits or discounts, and minibar may be excluded. Check the exact inclusion sheet, hours and frequency limits.
Can children eating free order freely from adult menus?
Do not assume so. Confirm ages, designated menus, adult-menu supplements, drinks and festive dinners. Obtain written clarification when official wording conflicts.
