Start with each child’s date of birth, your stay dates and international flight times. Confirm that the room accepts your actual party, the care service accepts your children, and the transfers fit your flights. Then compare villa views, pools and restaurants.
Official sources checked 7 October 2026. These are published examples, not live booking quotations. Unpublished or inconsistent conditions remain subject to confirmation.
Separate the kids club from infant care
Hard Rock Maldives’ club page lists Roxity for toilet-trained ages 3–11 and the teen group for ages 12–17. Separate babysitting starts at seven months, at US$30++ per child per hour, with one sitter per child. Advance reservations and availability apply; 10% service charge and prevailing tourism GST are additional.
Do not plan adult-only outings on the strength of a kids-club listing when your child does not meet its admission rules. Specify the dates, hours and number of children, and request a tax-inclusive childcare quote, cancellation terms and any meal-time extras.
For other resorts, verify their own rules. Keep club activities, parent-accompanied play and paid childcare separate in your plan.
Check beds, stairs and the exact room capacity
Hard Rock’s room page provides two comparable family categories:
| Exact category | Published area | Layout |
|---|---|---|
| Silver Family Suite, two-bedroom duplex | 107 m² | King bed, sofa bed and an upstairs bunk bed connected by stairs |
| Silver Family Pool Suite, two-bedroom duplex | 120 m² | Duplex layout with a private pool |
Both list capacity for four adults and two children. That does not confirm every age mix or free-bed arrangement for your reservation. Published area should not be treated as net indoor space.
Ask where each child will sleep, whether the stairs have gates, how nighttime supervision works and whether the pool can be isolated. Request a floor plan and written acceptance of your actual party. See Hard Rock details and the water-villa versus beach-villa comparison.
Free child stays and meals do not settle the transfer bill
Vilu Reef’s family offer covers stays and meals for up to two under-12s sharing with two full-paying adults. Shared return seaplane transfers cover two people only, with a minimum seven-night stay.
Request the remaining passengers’ transfer charges, offer dates, eligible room and child-menu terms. An online offer does not prove availability for your dates. See Vilu Reef details.
Transfer age bands can differ from club admission. For example, Hard Rock’s policy separates shared-boat passengers into ages 12+, 6–11 and five or under. Confirm the actual charges and any package inclusion for your booking.
Check the complete arrival and departure journey
Separate immigration and baggage collection, waiting time and the journey itself. A boat transfer is not proof of on-demand departure; a seaplane flight duration is not the total transfer time.
Provide flight numbers and ask about same-day arrival, delays, overnight accommodation costs, and children’s baggage and seating. Use the transfer guide for operator context, then ask the resort to confirm the arrangement for your reservation.
A family quotation checklist
| Send to the hotel | Request in writing |
|---|---|
| Party size and each child’s date of birth | Accepted room category, capacity and overwater child restrictions |
| Full room name, nights and bedding needs | Bed for each person, cot or extra-bed cost, stairs and pool protection |
| International flights in both directions | Transfers, tax-inclusive return total, delay and overnight arrangements |
| Selected meal plan | Child menu, adult-menu supplements, drinks and festive dinners |
| Club or childcare times needed | Admission rules, parent supervision, availability and care charges |
| Travel dates and offer name | Eligibility, cancellation deadline and final tax-inclusive total |
Keep unanswered items marked “to confirm”, rather than assigning zero cost or borrowing another resort’s policy. Compare the meal-plan guide and place the whole party’s costs in the budget worksheet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a kids club mean the hotel can look after my toddler?
Not necessarily. Confirm age, toilet-training requirements, supervision and reservations. Infant care may be a separate paid service.
Can a family of four stay in one overwater villa?
Confirm the exact category and children’s ages. A room name, floor area or sofa bed does not establish permission for four occupants; child restrictions and extra-bed charges also need checking.
Do free child stays and meals include free transfers?
Not necessarily. Accommodation, meals, transfers and childcare can use different age bands and package rules. Itemize each traveller and service in the quote.
